Our Mission

At Smiley Spaces UK, our mission is to make high-quality sensory environments accessible, affordable, and inclusive. We believe that everyone — regardless of age, ability, or background — deserves a space where they can feel calm, supported, and inspired.

By creating contemporary sensory rooms under £1,000, we’re removing financial barriers for families, schools, and organisations who want to enhance wellbeing through sensory support. Whether it’s for a child with SEND, a therapy space in a clinic, or a calming corner at home, we’re committed to delivering thoughtful, professional, and effective sensory solutions that truly make a difference.

Our Story

Combining professional expertise with lived experience

Smiley Spaces UK began with a simple idea: to bring calm, creativity, and comfort to people who need it most. With a background in design, education, and care, we saw firsthand how powerful sensory environments can be — not just for children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), but for anyone needing a safe, soothing space.

We also saw a problem: sensory rooms were often expensive, clinical, and out of reach for the very families, schools, and services that needed them. So, we set out to change that.

Today, we specialise in creating contemporary sensory rooms that are fully installed and budget-friendly — often for under £1,000. Our rooms are used in homes, classrooms, clinics, nurseries, and care settings across the UK. Each space is thoughtfully planned, professionally installed, and tailored to meet real needs.

At Smiley Spaces, we’re passionate about inclusivity, creativity, and making a real impact. We don’t just create rooms — we create smiles, one space at a time.

Experienced Leadership & Personal Insight

Our leadership team has years of hands-on experience in both business and care, but what truly sets us apart is our personal connection. We’re parents, family, and friends of individuals with ADD, ADHD, autism, and other neurodiverse conditions. We’ve shared in the daily challenges and celebrated the small victories — and that genuine understanding shapes everything we do.

Professionally, we’ve founded and managed businesses in the early years and education sector, including nurseries and successful play centres. This background gives us real-world insight into how children interact with sensory environments — and how to design spaces that truly support their development and wellbeing.

We don’t just know the theory — we’ve lived it. And that makes all the difference.
